According to WHO, only 7 deaths in Mexico and 1 in US have been confirmed to have been caused by Swine Flu. Rest are all "suspected".

    http://www.who.int/csr/don/2009_04_29/en/index.html

media is unnecessarily creating panic in the name of "spreading awareness".

    Thanks coox!

The people are fearful over here, everywhere you look there are people wearing mouth and nose covers (not sure on what's the word), I can tell you that the news is down-playing the reality A LOT. I know of three people in just my state that have died because of this virus.

The people is scared because there is no cure as of now, people that have an ordinary flu get the hell scared out of them thinking it's the swine flu. Schools, restaurants and public places in general have shutdown until May 6th. It's only a matter of time till the alert is raised to rank 6.

The Administration in the U.S.A is being reffered to as "The H1N1 Flu Virus" I dont see what the point is of that but just heard it on fox News Schools with confirmed cases will be closed as of orders of the President.

$1.5 billion dollars are being set forth to the H1N1 Flu Virus to prevent the Virus according to the President. This is getting a little crazy now.

Well I hope all goes well to you Treyu

    Thanks,
    John

We should need to prevent it using good herbal suplemen "PROPOLIS" that's natural anti virus produce by bees :)

yea i get the feeling we're aren't been told what's really happening.
I'm reading news online that conflicts with tv news..

In our house we're planning what to do if this does get major. (I'm in south australia). The qld premier said schools will be shut down up in queensland..
Think about this- If things get shut down and everyone is house quarantined..how are people going to pay their bills and get food and othr necessities?
We're gonna stockpile candles and basic foods just in case.
Reason being is 1 news story says nsw has confirmed cases, while next night they are only suspect.

While i am no health expert,I do recommend eating lots of fish or take cod liver oil. Reduce your iron intake. (red meat has highest iron level) Vitamin C.

I read an interesting genetics/evolution and disease book recently. Virus's thrive when there is lots of iron in the body. This is why the bubonic plague killed healthy people. It had scientists confused for ages,as it seemed to strike down random people. We all need iron to survive..but so do virus's.
If you have listened to news reports, they have stated that this "swine h1n1 flu" that started in mexico,is targeting those around 20-40 that are healthy.

So..reduce your iron intake..but keep the other vitamins up of course!
If anyone is interested in book i read..just ask and i'll post the title.

    Treyu,
    be safe. :)

Prevent is better than cure, the things that we can do now is boost our body immune system, vitamins can help, drink more water, sleep early, and of coz dont hang out late at night online or in the forum :)

Let's hope it doesn't spread anymore there. Mexico is already swarmed by this virus. There have been at least 11 confirmed casualties in my city. We're the second most affected city besides the capital (Mexico City).

    ok peeps,
    Found an article (it's long)..by a doctor.

Came across it yesterday when looking at swinetracker.com.
There are valid points within the article.
I for one won't be accepting a swine or h1n1 vaccine ever.
If they lock down the country and force it upon us..shoot me dead now. I would rather die than accept a flu vaccine.
I am also not buying into the whole tamiflu thing either. Here in oz,how convenient they don't have enough? More mass panic by sheep.

Take note of the comments under the article also. Others think this whole h1n1 flu is something fishy.

I don't like how we arent being told everything. When avian broke out in 02,things were alot more orderly and mass cullings of birds took place.
Why arent any birds and pigs being killed,if its a mutation of the two? I know its not a cure but at least it would control it.

    2 critical points from article:
36000 americans died from seasonal flu each year. From jan to now there has been 13000 deaths already. compared to just 8 confirmed deaths from WHO for swine. (just checked the article,he's updated those statistics today)

People are panicking over 8 deaths in 2months from swine flu..compared to 3000 deaths day from malaria,an thousands from regular flu..come on people this is insanity. Those deaths from swine, considering it emerged from mexico, would be due to bad living conditions and malnutrition.

Please read the article from start to finish..sources are referenced in article.

At the bottom of article lists ways to keep healthy to reduce the possibility to get swine or flu.
Please tweet the link.spread the word however you can.

    http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/04/29/Swine-Flu.aspx

and when your done reading that..head to..

    for a laugh.

People are absolutely paranoid here (since one case has already been confirmed here in Perú, or at least it seems so).

Pharmacies have run out of masks, people are buying tons of them. I don't really see why, IMO it's a media circus at the moment here. However, we do have to be careful. It's spreading quite fast in the American continent.

    I lol'd.

The alarm is because of the high rate of contagiousness the virus has. The birdflu is only contagious in a human-animal symbiosis, this virus is contagious in a human-human symbiosis as well.

Thanks for the good wishes! :)

The solace is that the virus can't spread very fast in high temperatures, which is prevailing in some of the Asian countries at present but it is time to gear up the official machinery and deal with it as soon as possible because human lives are at stake.
