I guess what makes it dangerous at the moment is i think there is no cure yet, although the mortality rate is quite high.

I was watching BBC some time back and experts had a different opinion.

actually, the virus may be spreading fast, but it isn't dangerous enough for people to start panicking.

bbc says there have been deaths in Mexico bcoz of various reasons like...

    malnutrition,
congested and unhygienic conditions (which allowed the virus to spread fast),
    pollution (which weakens lungs),
prevalence of HIV (which reduces immunity)
    etc

if the virus starts killing people in other parts of the world too, we may have to start worrying...

the bad thing about viruses is that they can change forms rapidly and repeatedly.

this current form may change a bit and become highly dangerous.....:(.

Just go to the CDC website for official documents.
The news down plays these things too for fear of mass hysteria.

Actually the news is upplaying it too much. You heard about the death in Texas of the kid from this? Did you also hear he was a Mexican visiting relatives and caught the disease in Mexico before he came here? No, you didn't, but I'll bet everyone here thought it was a US citizen.

Are you aware that local health officials everywhere are saying "no big deal"? But who do you see on the news? Governors and mayors proclaiming it will kill us all.

Last I heard Mexico Was at 149 Deaths and in the U.S.A there has been one death the but it was a child from Mexico and had traveled here with the virus it is on the contrary though that the fact they may have come from brownsville which is located on the border of mexico and Texas but is considered U.S.A Soil so Not sure what to say about it but hey its not my battle to figure out.

    Thaks,
    John

It is, I live in Mexico. My parents don't let me go out to busy places, the only times I've been able to get out on the last couple of days is to some friends houses and to the store. Even then I've got to cover my mouth and nose. The alert has been raised to rank 5, it's HIGHLY contagious and it has spread to many countries, Europe and the USA being just some of them.
