Hi all! I have recently launched a proxy directory site called SweetProxies, and I am looking for feedback and reviews on how to improve the service and add new features. Suggestions are welcome! Some information for you to get an overview idea of SweetProxies: It is a free online proxy directory for php/cgi proxies, topsites, other directories, resources, etc. Users can register and 'sweeten' sites (add them to their favorites... known as the 'sweets jar') which they can go back to for quick reference It has as digg-like feature to show how many times sites have been added to user's favorites (sweetened) Users can rate sites with a 5-star rating system Top rated and recently sweetened sites appear in the left column You can quickly preview a proxy to see if it suits your needs by clicking the 'view' button (opens in an ajax window without leaving the site) Homepage links are randomized, unlike a topsite, to give all proxies an equal and fair chance for exposure The focus of the site is to provide a collaborative, socially user-driven system for proxies to be fresh and continually updated and moderated by users What do you think of the concept of having a socially user-driven proxy directory? Any way to improve the features? Does the AJAX preview work well for you all? (please provide browser info if finding bugs). What do you think of the look/feel? Is it simple enough to use? Thanks!
I've already discussed the site with you - But I'd urge others to check this out, it's definitely not just another topsite or proxy list deal. Check it out, especially if you run proxies, or proxy-related sites, yourself.
I like the header design, however... all of the content below looks cluttered.. try aligning them all in a fixed table.
Thanks for the feedback guys! 8everything, I've tried to 'unclutter' as much as I can. The text is a bit more aligned now. Its the best I can do at the moment. Thanks for your feedback on the header. SweetProxies has been mentioned on Free2Surf's blog! Check out the interview with SweetProxies' founder here.
