I just tried to move my forums to another server.
I just copied everything including the database but now all the swedish letters åäöÅÄÖ shows as question marks in Firefox or square in Explorer.

    What caused this?
I set MYSQL to utf8_general_ci just like it was on the old server.

    Please help me

Stephanie, check to make sure that the character encoding being sent by the new server also matches the one being sent by the old server.

General isn't enough. And I believe it only works if you install mysql server with specific UTC coding... I've tried this a few times, but always forget and I end up with the same problem as you.

æøå <- you see they get output here. But if DP Shawn moves this, to another server, it would crap up.

Ok, I tried to upload a fresh Phpbb2 version and install it with a fresh copy of the swedish language pack but even at the installation screen it gives me question marks
Before I have even installed it.

Could there be a setting I need to do in Lxadmin?
