I have a client who has requested a porn site. Their yet to choose a domain name and I was wondering if there were any issues with containing swear words within a domain name?

Thanks for any advice, it's appreciated.

There is no cross-registrar policy that bans profanity in a domain (.com, .net, or .org). However some registrars will not allow profane domain names.

Anything can work, just it depends on the site content quality.

Some ccTLDs won't accept them, but in the old public gTLDs anything goes.

.IN registry doesn't allow such sites to function for sure - so SmallPotatoes is right about the restriction by ccTLD's, however no such issues with gTLD's - one can safely register and run a site (as long as permissible by local law regulations)

You should be able to register such a name with any ICANN accredited registrar without problems.
