Swear word in domain name

Does having the swear word, "badass" in a domain name affect how the domain appears in search results? And do I have to worry about TOS with registars?

    That's not a swear word. It's a misbehaving donkey :D

I'd be more inclined to link to it, but that's just me.

I doubt a swear word affects SE rankings. Just think about porn sites.

I'd guess it really just depends on what you are going for. I don't think badasschristians.com would be the best choice. But I'm sure badasstshirts.com would do fine selling edgy tshirts, for example.

that is not really a bad word lol, really bad words with the f word etc, they get place, on certain search engines, in adult sections like on dogpile.com when you search a word like Adult F***ing they will ask if you want adult results or non adult results.

I might be disinclined to click on a site with a highly offencive name, but yours isn't, so it would just make me all the more intruiged.

It would probably fall into adult on some search engines or be blocked by some software because of the a.. word, but overall it really isn't offensive to most people.

You have to consider this sect of people as they do exist.

Then again, there are people who are much more likely to click on a link to an offensive domain name. (I fall into that category).

It's up to you to figure out which will make you more successful.

    Good call, dude!

Of course, I was referring to serious, Christian site. It seams more profitable to go with the humor end, possibly.

a lot of isps filter out swear words like F*cking cause they think its some kind of adult site, better not use it in my opinion.
