    TOPS seems to think that eventually web developers will be sued if they don't meet accessibility standards.

    I don't think it will get to that point. Perhaps some of the larger, more important websites, yes.

    Think about it, not every store in the world has wheelchair access, but the larger ones take it seriously...

    Seiya: If you had read the article, or the majority of the thread, you would already know the answer to that question - yes, with text readers installed on their computers.

    The problem is that many websites are hard to use with text readers due to an over-reliance on javascript, flash, ect, as well as there not being enough information describing pictures. Often the "Alt" tag used for this purpose is instead used for Search Engine optimization, or left out entirely.

    I intend to attempt to live up to standards for my own pages. However my workplace has policies that prevent it due to a big selling point of our sites being that we do SEO for businesses that want to reach the average user in their target market.
