I am not sure where this thread is going...My simple question is how come I have PR6 on inner pages that does not have backlinks (atleast to my knowledge)... and it is not one off...I have few PR6 many PR5 and hundreds of PR4... some of them are just translated pages in other languages through a plugin, which according to stats has not received more than 5 hits in last 3 months...but the PR given to this automatic translated page is PR5.. Though I am a happy man...I am puzzled by this..and want to know how this PR is operating.... One thing for sure...the content of these pages is original and quite useful (in my opinion atleast and I am spent quite a lot of hours researching and writing it..) I hope some 'pagerank algorithm' experts can shed some light on it... or is it just a glitch
Heres my theory on why we are observing inner pages with few backlinks having higher PR than the main page with many backlinks: If google believes (rightly or wrongly) that some of the backlinks pointing to your main page are dubious or paid, it will not fully reward this page with the PR reading on the toolbar that would result from all the backlinks. However, it appears that pages with lower PR readings still have good juice in them, so the main page passes this good juice to the inner pages. The G algorithm is quite happy with the links to the inner pages so it gives them a full PR reading on the toolbar. What do you guys think?
