Is anybody else having problems with surpass hosting today? All my sites are down and have been for a while?
Is it not better to call them then ask in a forum? If they do not have 24/7 service change the dam thing. My hosting company have a live chat all the time plus phone and tickets i had another before and they never answer me and they lost me and my 200 domains as a customer
This is an update from Suprass Hey folks, After almost 3 years of barely having any issues at all, pass55, unfortunately is starting to bite the dust. The main drive on the machine is failing heavily, sshd doesn't want to come up anymore, due to corrupt libraries, and there's a plethora of other issues. I am still trying to get it back up, in order to attempt to run the last batch of backups (in case backups are old), and then we'll be restoring the machine onto a brand new server with fresh 300 GB drives. I am not sure as to which kind of restore we'll be performing yet, as I am not positive on the status of the current main drive. If it is readable, and it can stay alive for longer than an hour at a time, we'll be restoring the machine from live data; if not, we'll be forced to restore from backups, and once that is complete, try to update the restored files with the latest ones from the old main drive. Currently, the new machine is installing CentOS, which shouldn't take more than another 5-10 mins, after which cPanel will be installed, which takes about 30 minutes. As usual during restores, accounts get restored in alphabetical order - accounts starting with the letter "a" will get restored before accounts starting with the letter "b". For now, please wait for 12 hours before submitting any tickets about issues with your sites, as more than likely all issues will be fixed by the end of that timeframe automatically. Even if your account started with "a", and your site is showing, but some other smaller issue is apparent (ie. quotas not showing right, some of your other accounts under account listing not showing up), please do not submit a ticket until the end of the timeframe, as yet again, most of these issues get fixed at the end of the restore. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate your patience and understanding. We're working as fast as possible to get everything back up and running.
Get the hell out of there !!! Thats 1 man show and if he run the thing so far he will do the same thing once more. Get out and change server right now!
Actually, its not a one man show. The email came from one of the forum mods that serves as an ambassador to the reseller section. I have used Surpass for years and have not had many problems at all. Support is usually very fast to respond, and the servers are quite secure. The only thing I dont like is that they do not have a phone line for support.
How do you know that its not? I I I and I in the email sounds like a one man show maybe some support from India or something. Many internet companies are one man show but it looks like a huge thing. Support is the most costley in internet and telephone is the worst take time and never works out. My advice is anyway get out.
