    Well I think I will answer these two. I believe it doesn't credit php link directory because well he probably purchased the sript that doesn't have to have the link back to php link directory. The one for 75 Dolars.

    Second, It probably costs because so does yahoo and plenty of others...

    I meant it's new and not much popularity, and a zero pagerank

    Hmm yeah..but maybe they are more concerned by quality and only want people to submit that really feel they have a great site. I dunno...guess we will hve to wait for surchin to answer that one!

    beside google, msn and yahoo is there any other search engine that can manage to get up ? to have a lot of ppl that use it ?

    Is there a smart thing to work with another search engine ?

    Your project looks good as design and has some neate features.. i admit that but I am not sure me or 80% of the ppl out there can swich from standard search engines.

    Hi guys ok 1 at a time.

    Addurobi;

    Surch's popularity as you are reffing to is obv. based on some tool u are using to check backlinks, popularity and PR etc... but we are not marketing surch right now and google updates every 3-4-whenever months so its an unfair bias. That being said, check the Alexa rating... Although Alexa isn't the best, it is a good rule of thumb to follow and our ranking is around 20K. (if you know of an alternative to Alexa please inform us)

    I can tell you that we are getting insane amounts of traffic. So much that we are adding 125 new servers this week to our farm in seatec, WA. So I think we are growing at a rate that we are extremely please with.

    Our PR is zero because we launched 3 months ago and PR hasn't updated but our predicted value that iwebtool.com gives is going to be 4 and thats with no marketing and barely coming out of beta so again, we are very pleased with the results. So I guess the question is this; Do you want your site listed on a directory that has a ton of backlinks and high PR but low traffic or a site that just hasn't been updated by google yet however has millions of hits a day?

    Addurobi we love all feedback good and bad but really, as seen and noted by others in pretty much all your posts here, you need to do your homework a little better. Mystickcal was correct, we bought the rights to that directory script and sure, we could have (and also have) created and uploaded our own but everyone is familiar with that particular script as its simple and to the point so we used it instead to launch with and to get feedback on what people would like to see additionally in it... and we don't need to "include" anything like a credit to them since it was paid for.

    DXP, well I think that when google started 7 yrs ago or so someone said the same thing about them... "can anyone take over yahoo and altavista" and I think they have done a fair job of that. Will Surch? We aren't sure. Thats not our mission to become the biggest, just offer the best results that we can.

    I think someone once said "we are all but a vast majority of sheep, a button collar starched and bleached." So you can choose to continue to use the standard and "draw within the lines" but some of us like to explore from time to time and see what else is out there. I hope that you will check things out and give us some feed back on what you find at surch.com.

    Bested, we are working on a new content filtration system and for the moment took out the previous one so yeah its a little "open ended" right now... but what are you doing looking up porn anyway? LOL

    Ill post soon on the filtration for feedback.

    Thanks,
    Surchin

    well if surch comes with many tools for webmasters and a lot of things that cater to us, it could be a search engine used by webmasters, and then slowly integrate to mainstream..

    even if it was used by most webmasters, that could be a big site...

    looks a DP forums, for webmasters only and Alexa of 125:eek:

    OK GUYS SURCH HAS FINALLY GOT THE FIRST PART OF ITS RANKING SYSTEM UP....SEE HOW YOUR SITE RANKS BY GOING TO;

    http://www.surch.com/surch_lab.php

    Now give it time to load when you preform a surch... its preforming many queries at once AND unlike iwebtool.com Surch is NOT caching results to save on load time and bandwidth so the results will ALWAYS be accurate!!! This eventually will run on its own servers and we will be updating the next version using AJAX this week so bare with us!

    Feedback Please!!

    Very nice, it is a little slow like you said, but I would rather wait extra time and get a non cached version then use it and get a cached version like iwebtools.com does. Sometimes it takes them forever to update their cache!

    Edit: After using it a few times I realized your Yahoo listings are backwards...You have popularity (sites that link to you) and listings (how many times you are listed in that surch engine) backwards :)

    I wouldn't call it Surchsense and Surchrank... Just opens yourself up to lawsuits imo :)

    Yeah Ill change the name out on surchsense... its not up yet but... hey you guys can give some suggestions for a name...that would be kewl...

    Stevey as always, thanks. glad you liked it... How did surch fare for your popularity guys?

    ps. AJAX version coming hopefully today and its going to be way better with graphs, export options etc. I think the best point to it is that we are not caching which takes longer to load and costs surch more money in band but... I personally found that when you are manipulating your site and doing seo its good to get real time results instead of cached ones so you can see the real affect of your work. :)

    Deffinently not a problem surchin :)

    Thank you again for your hard work on this SE, it'll deffinently pull up well in the long run.
