Maybe its just what i think, but not many father/son teams have large development budgets which will enable them to create a tool that can rival something like google or yahoo.

Even if the surch engine has good results it doesn't mean too much.. there is an enormous back end to a large search engine just like any large script.

If he did spend millions on it, even if his son did something or another, i doubt the father would just say, ahh screw it, i'm angry so i'll destroy this company i've been spending a lot of money on.

I think you have a good point.
A rich man, (any man?), would go to the lawyers, he wouldn't just go and close a semi successful site because his son made a bad business decision.

I think the costs of running the site proved a little too much for his limited budget/knowledge.

So the reason is personal. Something that involves the interest of his father. Oh well, I think surch is still gonna be back within the next couple of days. It's too good to just throw away.

I could be wrong: But wasn't this the same guy who said he had spent thousands in development and then got caught out for using a standard SE script.

Ok I have a little time today I apologies for being gone for a while but I had some serious family things that had to be taken care of.

Let me start by saying that Andrew Brown who posted this is not Andrew brown. The real Andrew brown works at biznetic so this guy is a fly by night poster with 1 post.

As to surch. It has been in development for 5 years. Now does that mean the current tech? NO. Its been the idea of surch that has been in development. Our first engines were lame little php scripts etc. The overall concept of surch and what is means to us which, if you have fully read the surch.com post you would realize is and always has been; To have a surch engine that worked with a super browser with built in VOIP/VIDEO, built in ftp app and ssh client (for developers) and an instant messenger etc...more or less to give something all inclusive to the world. We have done that, our browser is FULLY complete and awaiting a launch early this year. www.surch.com/blue_all.jpg (thats the skin of the browser that I'm using right now, we have more if you would like to see them but I cant put it on cnet just yet for downloads because...patents) And, its our own, no1 Else's.

The idea was additionally to create an eye pleasing engine and format it in a way that people would gravitate to it. Thats why we post here, To get peoples opinions. While we do use some of biznetics software we have greatly modified many thing... also those many things have not been released because as Ive said for months we are working on getting our patents. the "fake A. Brown" would know this as should anyone... You don't release something until you have completed a patent.

Now our release of the final version of surch in many ways will be like dogpile or mamma or biznetic etc because why? Its a meta engine. and thats why we purchased at great expense their software which is not just some script. Any half decent developer/coder would know that. But lets stay on this subject for a minute. Microsoft Windows was created by B. Gates but was nothing without what? Good marketing, a visually pleasing GUI and most importantly, DOS. And if you think anyone uses 100% proprietary code... Name a company that you think so and in 99% of the case Ill prove you wrong. To give you the whole story for what ever reason I should have too, in the last 3 years we changed things by purchasing software from biznetic because we liked it and figured it was an awsome base for what we wanted to do but, we have modified//customized much of it however, what you see now as I have again stated forever is nothing compared to what is coming that will as the real A. Brown from biznetic is going to post here soon.

Now the fake A. Brown wants to say stupid things like I said we are indexing the entire net... NEVER SAID THAT. Read my post; because Alexa stopped its imaging service or hindered its quality we developed our own imaging tool using Ajax and we DID purchase a capricorn 120TB system ( www.capricorn-tech.com ) and ARE spidering to obtain site thumbs of the entire net. And Fake A. Brown, a 120TB system is more than enough too... lets do some simple math for ya... each image is roughly 3800 bytes now lets take the number oh... 10 million (websites) and multiply.... thats 38000000000 bytes... so Fake A. Brown how many GB is that?.... let me help you genious... its 35 GB!!! I have 120TB and actually I'm getting another 15TB, why you ask? because even if you talk to the real A. Brown at biznetic you would know we do have a crawler its just not on that server and we are testing things with it constantly...

Now I am going to push the time frame for the final version of surch so everyone can have a look and Ill be posting our Patent numbers here soon but Im really saddened by some of the people that just ripped something with out even asking...specially when good guys like mystickcal post that I had a lose in the family and I had things to take care of.
