Just started a campaign tonight, first time since 2005, did a massive amount of reading before it. Just looking at my chosen keywords, ive set max cpc for one of the keywords at £1.70, its currently showing QS of 7, i understand that things can change, so will keep a close eye on what im doing. But what suprised me is the Estimated bid to show on the first page: £0.03 based on the quality score, for that keyword. As i say, only back to adwords tonight after years of not using it, so maybe that difference isn't quite anything to get excited about but anyway, il keep monitoring what im doing closely.
Saying that it will be on the first page is a bit of an embellishment in my opinion. Although its on the first page it doesn't mean that its going to be cheap in position 1-5. There may be serious competition for the top spot. I.e. Although the 1st page estimate may be $0.03, position 1 may cost you $2.50 and position 2 may cost $2.20 and so on...
Hi Grumio, i see what you mean, i think i also didn't take in properly last night what i was looking at. Your right, there will most likely be a significant difference in cost between being on the first page and actually being in one of the top spots. Thanks for pointing that out.
