Looks like the government will get what it wants now.

It's only a matter of time, remember MS anti-trust issues during the Clinton era?

of course I remember, heh shortly after jsut about every other country followed suit and gave MS a big spankin.

Man I'm so mad I want to create a blog, but then again, the US government just completed an excersice on how to shutdown social networks and websites that speak in a badlight of the govt. No joke!

That's utter BS. The US Government doesn't shut down anyone from speaking their mind... unless it infringes on the rights of others.

The article was not about the Supreme Court, but rather the Justice Dept (aka Bush administration) rejecting Google's concerns. But we knew this already, right? They're the ones who want the information from Google anyway.

Sure sounds like a stab at censorship, as opposed to the previous battles over filters in libraries, schools, etc...

Here it will make you think... why is the US gov't so afraid of its citizens? Now some of it is legit like DDOS spammers etc. but other things are just uggh.

The government is afraid, and has been afraid, of it's citizens for fear that finally what Thomas Jefferson said will actually come to past and all the old men running this country will be out of a job.
Thomas said (may not be exact quote) that democracy is nothing more than mob rule where 51% rule the other 49%.
Few years back, it was a rush for the government and local governments to stop the porn in stores and in the mail from being viewed by children.
So this is just an extension of that rush.
But strange that the DOJ would file papers in a court that is well known for being liberal and leftist!
