One year, almost to the day, my site is back in supplemental hell. Unfortunately the address is no longer valid so there is no easy way to get G to fix whatever they broke this time. Last year it was Big Daddy, this year, who knows? Is anyone else experiencing these issues? What's really strange is that according the tools on McDar's site, my pages are still #1 or in the top 5 where they were up until yesterday. But in the KWT here, the pages are all -9998.
Had the same problem earlier in the month. Turned out I had messed up Robots.txt. Found it using the diagnositics in google sitemaps. Took about a week for it to get out from the time I fixed it Brian
I'm not sure how that would make any difference since I don't even have a robots.txt file in the site currently.
You should. Throw up an empty file named robots.txt ( all lowercase ), zero bytes. You can grab mine if you'd like. Most spiders ask for this file, even the bad ones that don't obey it, so not having the file is putting extra work on your server, sending out 404 pages to a lot of 'bots that won't read them. Can you get the gmail address reinstated?
I've put up a robots file now. I thought it was already there and found it was missing when I started checking these issues. What do you mean about the gmail address?
I also just noticed that I am worse than I thought when it comes to spelling, the title of this thread was supposed to be supplement-hell. Oh well
look this http://www.seo4fun.com/notes/supplementals.html . you can find so many useful tips about the supplemental hell
