    Depends. How many pages are in the main index?
    Pages that are in the supplemental index will still appear for some search queries, just not the popular ones.

    IMO, if a large proportion of a site’s pages are supplemental, sometimes the whole site can go supplemental except for the home page, which could affect the site’s optimization efforts and traffic badly.
