So, I've got a few pages stuck in Google's supplemental index and it's got me wondering: (1) Why does Google even bother having supplemental results? What are they used for and who sees them other than frustrated webmasters? Do they ever appear in regular SERPs? (2) Do you ever see traffic from your pages in supplemental SERPs? (3) What are the main reasons pages end up in the supplementals, and how can you get them out? I think I know the reason for mine being there...they're old pages with a lot of duplicate content. At least that's my best guess. Interested to hear all your thoughts on the supplemental SERPs...thanks.
As far my knowledge goes supplement results means the content is duplicate. It gives around 15 days to change it I guess. You can have a try by changing the content. Have a try.
Make sure you have unique <title> tags and unique <meta=description> tags for each page. Usually thats enough to pull them out of supplemantal results. Takes while though.
I changed my website completely 1 month ago and I still see supp. results on google that have the old dynamic links...
i strongly suggest you to read http://www.seo4fun.com/notes/supplementals.html . it's perfect resource about supp. pages
Not true. They consider it not important enough for the googlebot to visit very often. Good links to supplemental pages can bring them out.
