Supplemental Results vs Sandbox: How to tell if your web site is in it

I would like to know if there is a definitive way of finding out if a web site or web page has been relegated to Google's supplemental results. How does one tell for sure? And how dooe one know if a web page or web site has been sandboxed rather than been placed in the supplemental results? What is the difference and how can one find out for sure?

Also, I have read in the past that if you do a search for a web page or web site (e.g. Mywebsite.com) and it does not appear on the first page of Google's results, it is probably sandboxed. Is this true? How does one know it is indeed sandboxed and not in Google's supplemental results instead?

    if you do

site:www. mysite.com, it will show all the pages google has indexed, and if they're supplemental, it will say so

The sandbox issue is a very contentious matter, it is not certain that it exists or what format it takes, but many people are now of the opinion that you need to build up "trust" with google

So, an experienced webmaster, well known to google and trusted, will probably have fewer slow ranking issues with new websites under his/her control and perhaps ownership

mysite. com as a query should always bring up your index page on the first page, unless you're not indexed at all,

However, if you have a massive number of links, on sites more highly ranked than yours, its possible for those link pages to push your index page to perhaps page 2

anyway, i am just learning all this stuff, so ,,,
