Supplemental Results ! How to get out ???

I have a site in which most of my pages are listed under supplemental pages in google. Because i use header.php, menu.php and footer.php i think google believes these pages are same, and puts me in supplemental results. Another problem with me is i dont use meta tags like keywords and description.

How to get out of supplemental results?
Does using meta tags (description, keywords) solve problem?

I have a similiar problem with one of my domains.

It would be helpful if an expert can give a definitive answer on how to overcome this problem.

Looking at a few of your supplemental pages most of them are showing a cached version from last year.

actually content should be unique, even if your content is own, if any other sites copy from u ,which have good PR then your site pages will be in supp.even if other sites are small and if google index there site first then after that if it come to your site then also u will be in supp.

I don't know about that. Then google would be expected to know which version came out first, and who originated the content... Although I'm sure that some replecated (which is obvious) content is placed into supp, Overall if a higher PR steals your stuff I don't think it'll supp your page.

Who knows though, anyone have proof of this?

I feel if I just build my content more and work on building the site's backlinks more then more people will start coming over, and google will move me out of supp then.

Also this thread is similar :)

Yes, use the meta tags, mainly the description, if you do not then google will create one for you which for the most part will always be the same.

that is true what i mean to say is if high PR site copy from u before google index new content. google will more offer visit regular updated and high PR sites. so it will index content there and later when it come your site it finds dup content make this as supp.

To get out of the supplemental index, you need to make your pages as unique as possible:

    - unique titles
    - unique meta tags (to show up in the SERPs): preferrably human friendly
    - unique main content
    - less secondary navigation (footer, left-right hand navigation)
    - more links to your internal pages

Try getting backlinks to your sub pages that you want to get out of supp. results. Google is putting those pages in supp. results because it doesn't think they have unique content / high importance. Back links with unique anchor text should help.
