What does it take to get a page out of supplemental? this one is supplemental... is there not enough unique content on it? (scroll to the bottom) this page isn't even indexed and yet all the content is unique On another site this one is cached, but has less content than this one which is supplemental any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Is there something that I am just plain missing?
The title and meta description could do with some work. They just look auto generated to me. Yahoo only reports 2 links to http://crawley.justoneuk.com/adult-education-schools.htm and 15 external links to the http://crawley.justoneuk.com subdomain. Subdomains are treated like seperate sites so you need to build links to them to get them properly crawled and indexed. The http://crawley.justoneuk.com has a cache date of 5th March which shows Google doesn't trust it enough to do regular crawls.
There are several steps you can take to get your pages our of Supplimental Result (SR) or "Google Poo" as it is sometimes called. 1- get quality links to link to these pages. 2- see if there are duplicate contents/meta tags sharing with other pages and REMOVE them 3- remove then from the sitemap even though SR are crawled less frequently then normal pages. Although Google says there are no ways webmaster can influence the Index (Main Index & Supplemental Index) in which his/her website will be placed. Google also says "Please be assured that the index in which a site is included does not affect its PageRank.".
i have checked your page and u have mentioned almost same title in 2-3 pages which are in supplemental result. and u have used "crawley" keyword 3-4 times in 8-10 words of title this is really over use of that keyword. just try to make it unique and do some changes in your description.
Yes look for duplicate words in your title and descriptions, increase the backlinks of your main page so all pages under the domain seem more valuable. Seems like the issue is usually duplicate content or maybe not enough content.
Everyone covered everything pretty much, not only do you need unique content, you need unique titles, meta keywords and meta descriptions. Also you dont want it to appear spammy, you only need your keyword once in the title. The first page you showed, the title looked insanely spammy.
thanks for your replies but I don't see how I can make the titles or descriptions unique. If I have a page about Glasgow website designers then I will also have one for Edinburgh website designers, Dundee website designers... it all seems pretty repetitive the same goes for the description, they will all be the same apart from the town name. I have seen sites with worse, really crappy descriptions (in fact almost the same description on each page no matter what the category) that are fully indexed! Things like :Find plumers here, Find doctors here, Find schools here, etc I agree about the duplicate content (there are a lot of empty pages which I guess shouldn't be indexed) but I don't understand how the pages that actually have a reasonable amount of unique content are still in supplemental or not even indexed... unless it all has to do with backlinks.
Each domain (or subdomain) has a certain amount of PR or Trust based on the number and quality of the backlinks and this trust is spread out over all your pages. Try to get too many pages indexed without getting more links and they go supplemental.
