With so many sites today, when I do a site:www.domain.com in G, most of the pages are in the supplemental index.

From what I can observe, supplemental pages have no PR. They display old Toolbar PR, anicent data from months ago but it looks like next update will be PR0.

What are problems thoughts on this?

You want to try to point some links to your inner pages to get them some pr and out of the sup index.

Backlinks, as said above must be acquired. Use the social bookmarking sites as well as other link building opportunities. Submit your inner pages and make sure your navigation is correctly balanced in order to ensure you get high rankings for the keywords you are going for.

You just got only index by google but PR must be from Backlink. Find more backlink to get high PR

PS. Backlink from High PR website is the best.

Yet another one reminding me to check for supplemental pages before buying a website which might have a very decent PR.

One of the ways to counter supplemental pages is to have high quality links pointing to them. Supplemental pages tend to be low quality and do not have any links pointed towards them, therefore the no pagerank thing

I would also like to recommend to have unique titles, META and content across your site to avoid supp. pages as well. Of course, backlinks to the pages is important too :)

the main reason for the supplemental results is page rank. you need to build backlinks for these supplemental pages

Yes, I agree with trichnosis..:) Other reason why there are supplemental pages is that there is a duplicate content of a website.
