Supermicro IPMI hosting wanted

I have had different hosting companies for dedicated machines over the years. In the past the best I could hope for was a device I could power cycle a machine myself via a web interface. That was OK but not perfect.

I learned of Supermicro IPMI a few years ago. Built my own servers to take advantage of it, total remote control! Mounting remote disks, I just love it.

I found one hosting company (that does not even promote it!) that all their servers are Supermicro with IPMI support. So I can access my dedicated servers anytime and in any condition.

So, my question is... Can anyone give me the name(s) of hosting companies that also provide Supermicro servers? I would like some additional server at a different provider so not all my eggs are in one basket.

Any dedicated server leads with Supermicro IPMI support appreciated.

I find it strange that you're having such as issue. We're a Supermicro-only host and have had IPMI available for years but we also have a separate KVM-over-IP system attached to all our servers so remote video/mouse/keyboard is available via a different route. All HP servers (I think) have a similar system to IPMI called something like "Lights Out" (I'm sure someone will know the correct name), so it's not that unusual.

Doing Google searches I don't find a lot of options for Supermicro based hosting. I find the IPMI very reliable so would like to continue with that. I've tried several brands of KVM-over-IP and they suck to say the least and often don't have power management. I just find the Supermicro solution to be quite elegant, it is not as good as remote desktop but for setting up and OS or emergency access it is excellent.

One of the hosting companies I am using now has it, and I find it shocking they don't promote that as a feature. I just sorta lucked out, I chose them due to their geographic location and was impressed when I found 24/7 access via the IPMI interface in the control panel.

If I can find more Supermicro hosts, great.
