Am I the only one that thinks the SB half time show sucked? I've never been a big Stones fan, but man, seeing that 62 year old ugly disgusting looking man shake his ass at 1/2 time had me close to barfing my first quarter case of beer all over the TV. Who produces/picks these crappy performers? What was worse than seeing the Stones hobble around the stage was that National Anthem abortion... What the hell was that? Why can't people just sign a song the way it is supposed to be sung. Who the hell were these people anyway? I really enjoyed the SuperBowl, liked seeing the Steelers win, but between the National Anthem being destroyed, and seeing the Stones at half time, I was near begging for Rossane's rendition, complete with croch grab, and Fat Janet Jackson with a eathing malfunction on stage. This is by far the worst half time and pregame performance I have ever seen. Here we are in the motor city, where the hell was motown? Now I know why people become NASCAR fans. And that's pretty damn sad. Anyway..
national anthem...pre-grame...halftime...commercials...blah, blah, blah.. All things I couldn't care less about. It's funny how people are sucked into thinking shit like this really matters. THAT'S WHY IT'S ALWAYS SO SHITTY BTW!
It's not always shitty... Paul McCartney last year was incredible, as where many of the commercials. This year, ouside of the Bud Commercials and Fed Ex (which was hillarious), there was not much to remember. I think one of the best ones had ZZ Top. Me thinks that was the Packers back in 96'.
No way, Janet Jackson's "performance" was still the best half time show Actually, I can't ever remember a half-time show that I really enjoyed during the Super Bowl--but now I've wisened up, and I use the time to use the can and reload on beer. Toonces51
You know, if people put as much energy into stuff that actually matters in their lives we wouldnt have 90% of the problems we rave about everyday. I see it everyday, they can rattle off every character on desperate housewives and all the players on their football teams, but cant name their US Representatives or Senators. Cheers
I didn't like it, but then again, I am not a JJ fan.... It was certainly better than the stones... Yeah, we pretty much spent our time grabbing food during half time.
I liked the Sprint commercial about the phone with "crime deterrent". Budweiser as always had a pretty good showing. The Bud Light one about hiding beers in the office and the streaker were pretty funny.
Paul McCartney was incerdible! He didnt tried too much. His songs did all. Especially "Hey Jude". Rolingstones tried too much. And performance was bad. Too bad to remember. One of best was U2, for me. 2002. After 9/11. I didnt liked them, but after that I realized how great band they are. All was touching. Scenography, their act and songs.
I forgot about that one.. That was hillarious when he kept beaming him in the head with the cell phone. You have to wonder how many boozed up SuperBowl watchers started throwing their cell phones at each other! Yeah, that and the Bud commercial about the "magic frig". I was drinking Bud Light at the time and spit up laughing at that one!!!
The Pepsi Superbowl Smash was the best place for good music. The concert: Train, Goo Goo Dolls, Nickelback.
I enjoyed the streaking sheep. Other than that, the half time show was definatly a big dissapointment.
Google video has some great stuff I never seen before, links are in this thread Mia! http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=598636#post598636 One is an amateur film shot from the audience, two are professional films that are fantastic for sure!
The sound was bad and the show was worse. The only good part of the half-time show was the ending. Of course, they picked the stones since they were unlikely to have a 'malfunction'.
The superbowl is generally marketed and intended for older people. Younger people would find it boring. Basketball is for younger people. ANd the commercials wernt good either.
The superbowl was so lame. I didn't even watch it. I find most sports to be boring except for UFC, pride, or WWE.
