Try SmitfraudFix. It removed an annoying virus in my system which was invisible to AVs like Kaspersky, Norton & NOD32.

Many times the virus will not allow access to any of the anti-virus sites - even in safe mode with network access. If you have access to another computer I would download Malwarebytes to either CD or a flash drive and then install it to the infected machine from the flash drive or CD. Then run Malwarebytes. Usually that will take care of the problem. If not then you may need to go a step further and get Hijack This and Combofix. That combination will get rid of pretty much anything but it does take some time and effort.

Also, if the virus is backed up in your system restore files it will just get restored over and over so you may need to eliminate those and start it over as well.

I don't think I would reformat my drive - only as a last resort.

I would back up my important files before doing anything. Just be sure to scan them later to make sure they are not infected either before you restore them to your machine.

    Good luck.

Your virus is interfering with the anti-virus functionality and is hijacking it.
You are locked and you cannot do anything!, ultimate way is to format your drive or try out anti-virus like mcafee in dos mode.

    Hehe

You gave a very funny answer but in fact there are different new viruses abouth which there can be no answer. My bro himself found 2 new viruses recently, and be sure that about such viruses You can find nowhere.

In fact I offered the way of solving the problem, I know what viruses they are talking about.

do not say reinstall OS if smby. says that his PC turned off when he press the shut down button :D:D:D:D

Sorry buddy but the above method is the recommended way to remove viruses / malware. Have a look on the professional security / malware forums to confirm.

Why ppl recommending AVG? AVG is the worst ever antivirus software.. You can try Avira or Nod32 or if you want the best option you can go for BitDefender. I'm using both Avira for mys 1st laptop, nod32 for my 2nd laptop and bitdifender for my desktop gaming pc. So far i dont have any problem with virus.

DO NOT install 2 av in single pc/laptop. You just making your pc/laptop slowing down by running both of them.. Not rocemmended by me..

I would recommend Kaspersky AV. It's the best. The best advantage with Kaspersky is that it uses less resources from the PC.

Combofix is specialised software that needs specific instructions / experience to be run correctly.

The people at Bleeping Computer only advise its use under trained supervision. So it is not adviseable to just provide a link to ComboFix as this could render an inexperienced user's system useless.
