In windows, you can run your box in safe mode - and run anti-virus from safe mode.

if system restore is turned on - go back in time and most likely the virus service / executables would be rendered useless. Again, run Anti-virus before you do anything further.

There is a cure for everything - you just need to identify the problem first!!!!

ya, I know what's going on, follow these steps:

1.from task manager end "ctfmon.exe" process if it's running
2.open any archivator (WinRar or Zip)
3.goto c: and delete the following files if there arc: Recycle or Recycled, autorun.inf, amvo.exe,n1detect(NOTE not ntdetect)
4.the same for other partitions and Flashes
    5.reboot the PC

after that if You cant open Your hidden files, let me know and I'll send You a file to fix that problem too.

    Regards

Surfing on the Internet without adequate protection is like having unprotected sex. :D It's only a matter of time before you get contaminated.

I learn my lesson, after I got twice a real nasty virus which crashed my entire PC.

Afterward, I didn't hesitate to invest in what I consider to be one of the best protection software money can buy: "Kaspersky Internet Suite".

I personally consider any "free" anti-virus software as nearly useless.

    :D

Ok, here is how you do it.

Download Avast antivirus or AVG for free.

Start the computer in safety modus, and then open the virus program. Now search for viruses with your virus program. When you find the virus remove it and then its gone:)

    Hope this will help you.

Since the virus prevents all AV programs, I think you backup all your important files and reformat your harddisk. After reformating your hard disk, Install AVG and AVAST(anti virus combo) and keep it updated.

    Good luck!

Mcafee, CA, Kaspersky, Avast are equally good, but you will have to use the antivirus along with software like malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy. If you can find the name of the virus affecting your computer, you can find a solution to remove the virus with a simple Google search.

Do you the exact location and name of the virus? If yes you can delete it manually Do this

Go Start --> Run --> Type CMD and Click Enter
On DOS command from type attrib -s -h -r -a follow by location and name of the virus. for example

    Attric -s -h -r -a c:\mydocuments & setting\pictures\virus.exe

This will strip off the virus attributes and enable it to be visible and deleted. After you done that you can delete the virus.
