"Super" Super Bowl??

I keep reading on the internet ... as well as hearing various people at work ... comment on the Super Bowl ... saying it was one of the best games they've ever seen ...

I am a HUGE football fan ... and I honestly thought it was a stinker of a game ... (even though I won $100 in a "grid" pool) ... and did not even think the commercials were very good ...

I can appreciate good defense ... and the Giants certainly played well enough to win ... but it reminded me of that old team (can't remember exactly who) ... whose motto was "winning ugly" ...

    Thoughts??

Not a very good game imo. Some exciting parts, for but for the most part it was just painful to watch.

I thought it was exciting. And commercials were good.

Maybe people referring to it as a glorious game are Giants fans. They say 'There's a little Giants fan in all of us'.

I thought it was pretty boring, but then I'm more of a soccer fan anyway. We only watch for the ads in my house (sad I know) and there were very few which made those worth watching either.

Heh, speaking as a Brit who moved to America I can say the ads here in the U.S. are usually a lot more entertaining, at least during such things as the Superbowl there are anyway. Most of the time I just DVR everything and scan through them.

My wife is a HUGE Giants fan ... and even she thought it was a boring game ... up until the last 3 minutes or so anyway ...

Just an odd game all the way around ... and then to hear everyone say it was "such a great game" ... some columnist on ESPN even called it "one of the greatest sporting events ever" ...

    I just don't get it ...

if the ending of the game is exciting, then it will make people think it was exciting. I am one of those people. I loved the game

I just think the perception of it as a "great game" ... is off base ... for me personally that is ...

It was a crappy game with 5 minutes worth of excitement and maybe one or two great plays ...

Then again ... it was still better than 99.9% of whatever else passes for "entertainment" these days ...
