Anybody using Gimp along with NVU please post here, if you have any tips or recommended plugins feel free to drop it here.

My only question for the moment is why does Gimpshop have so many bugs, it's like the only time it works is when I just turned on my computer and have not opened any app prior to it, and half the times that does not work. It is safe to say I am using the regular gimp know, I really do not see the difference.

I will probably have more questions later..... Holler!!!!!!

    I have a Gimp/NVU problem?

I would like to know how to Add text in NVU after exporting it from Gimp. My current way of doing things is I export the design as a JPEG file and that's where I am stuck, I even tried adding the text in Gimp, but as soon as I tried to add a link to the text nothing happened.

That's all for now,thx in advance

    a couple of things:

Nvu is dead, Kompozer is the current branch of Nvu code being developed, but something like Aptana studio or eclipse would be best (and still cross-platform and open-source)

Next, although there is nothing from with the GIMP, Inkscape is a vector illustration app that works well together with it and I find it more useful for web design than the GIMP.

Third, the single and only case where a JPG ought to be used it to save a Photograph. For general graphics the best format is PNG because it's lossless, yet can still be small and flexible if you know how to save it correctly, and supports variable transparency which makes it indispensable for web graphics.

Use the right tool for the job, PNG, Kompozer, GIMP and Inkscape together bring this combination from 2003 into 2009.
