This is especially good for large sites with lots of content. 1) - Get the entire site indexed. Every URL. This means discovering the site properly by reviewing it, then tagging it. 2) Add friends in the same niche. 3) The tag Photography will index your page as your favorite photos. Obviously, for large sites automation is the prefered method. I use an autoit script just for myself. I'm willing to share / trade with other programmers. 4) Swap stumbles on stumbleswap.com. Use automation and many URLs. PM me if you want the source code. I'm not selling it unless you really want my personal source code that you will probably have to tweak. I'd rather trade for another method or script. - Ub
Hi aliasX, i'd like to learn more about your strategies Could yoou elaborate more about how to "index entire site, every url?" Could you explain what your automated tagging means? i'm very interested. thanks!
well, let's say you have a picture site. You can send people to stumble the home page, but you can also send people to all you other pages. My picture site has URLs like this: http://site.com/pic.php?id=1 , 2, 3, etc so my script goes to all the URLs, clicks "I like it". This bring up the discovery page. It then takes the title tag from your each url, like 'hot girls on a beach' and puts it as the title. It then takes 1 of 5 random comments for the review section and puts it in the box. It puts your tags in the tag box too. I noticed that this alone wasn't getting my sites listed in my stumble account favorites. So then I made a script that went and clicked the tag button for every URL and add my 5 tags - Ub
Not really, serious programmers could whip up some way more complex stuff. Instead of selling crappy stuff, I'd rather people help me get it working. - Ub
It's written in autoit, so you need a dedicated machine to use this continuously. I spider my URLs before going to sleep. IN REFERENCE TO THE POST BELOW THIS ONE: Stumbleupon is a web 2.0 surfing system. Users who have the same interests share websites by clicking "I like it" or "I don't like it" Proper marketing with this service can lead to many targeted hits for a LONG time! - Ub
I've been around the net a couple of years, but I've never heard of "stumble" or "stumbleupon"? What are they/it ? Thanks, John
Well, spidering means following all your links on your site and indexing them. There's not really any actual spidering or crawling being done though, since we are using a list of URLs. You can use a crawler or link spider software to collect your URL list, but this will usually leave you with pages you might not want directly stumbled since they will not get favorable clicks / reviews, such as a page on your site that is the login page for something. Not to mention the security implications. You can also make a URL list by using the pages on your site that are already indexed in search engines. - Ub
See this thread for services I've done for people using my scripts: If you want to buy / trade the script, you have to know some autoit programming! http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=619750 - Ub
