I thought I'd share my situation with some of you who might suggest me on what to do with my downloading site. when I initially had the the site set up I planned to use Amazon S3 as my static file hoster, so no matter how much downloading happens its never going to slow down the main site page loading speeds, but that changed when 150gb was downloaded in May which cost me around $16 . that's when i had second thoughts and decided that its going to cost me too much to maintain so i started to use my main host that contains my cms site to host these files. and now the downloads has reached 200gb this month and i can feel the site has somewhat gone slower with all the increase in downloading and requests going on, and since these downloads are going to increase in the coming months I think I need a new plan. That new plan was to get another shared hosting from godaddy for $15/3000gb and host them there, it would be cheaper than amazon S3 and if it ever reached its limit i'd just but another...but I'm not too sure and i feel like I'm making a mistake in the long run.... what do you think? if you have a better suggestion please let me know.
You were charged $16 for 150GB at S3? now you plan on going with GD and pay $15 for 3000GB? my math isn't as good as it used to be but I think its a better deal at GD, as long as they don't object to you using that much bandwidth.
