Howdy, I had this domain in my stable for quite a while and have finally decided to draw it out, dust it off and DO something with it! Besides making it a adsense page I'm not sure what other function it might service. Sure, it would provide information about what FTP is and present some Google ads for the browser to click... and then what? You're experienced feedback would be greatly appreciated! If it does well in the search engines you might be able to put together a small list of FTP clients. I'm sure several FTP client companies (CuteFTP, SmartFTP, etc) would love to have more people use their product. It is likely that they would be willing to pay for the advertising based on the traffic you generate.

Not a problem I don't think you would need a big website. People would simply want to go to your website to figure out what FTP is and how to use it. Outside of that i'm not really sure of any additional features you could add to the site. As far as traffic is concerned, unless the domain has a PR (and it probably doesn't since you said you just had it stored away for quite sometime) then you will probably need to develop the site first... at least get some legitimate traffic coming. And then you can approach the businesses with your website. The more traffic you can get the companies, the more valuable your website is to them.
