I am trying to get this forum: www.cyclingboard.com to run. Things I already did: +Posting on google, msn, myspace, yahoo groups +Link in forums signatures +Paid posting +Backlinks +Came to first page of digg .... What more should I do for this website so that people would join and post ?
Post in your forum... After that, all it takes is one incoming link that a bot hits and WHAM you're indexed. The number of actual backlinks you have mean jack if there is nothing once you follow them. Find yourself some good posters and get yourself some good posts. Don't bother with having articles, at least not stand alone articles. As articles make GREAT thread starters, especially if you leave them partially incomplete. Also, as it's a niche market, your sig here likely is not going to do much (though leave it, I get several hits a day on my occult sigs from here). Find other relevant forums that deal with your topic (yes, I mean your lead competition!) and then follow my advice here: Forum Link Building tips (it's not just your signiture!) After that, it's just a matter of time. Best of luck!
Maybe you should increase the number of categories in your board. It looks very big but as you don't have too many posts, it is better to have less - but filled - categories.
