I'm a newbie like you. But what I'd do is try and sandwich the adds between two blocks of related text. So they have to read through the adds to finish what they were reading. The way you've got it placed is they can read past them. Anyway that's what I'm going to do on my site next .

 

Ive gone for the ads on the top at Nothern munkies, seems we all need to keep experimenting take a look if you like any comments welcomed

I would try changing link unit to the color of your logo

 

Try to blend your ads:
- Remove "Advertise on this site" link
- Change the ad title&url color to #0066CC
- Change the ad content color to black

 

i can't see the ads?

if i don't look right you haven't placed them right.. (eveyrone should see them immediately)..
