i work for a group of attorneys that generate leads from several national websites. Are there any ideas of how to improve conversion rates (meaning the % of people who fill out a evaluation)?

some of the questions that i have are
    1) what is a good conversion rate? for organic, for PPC
    2) what are tips to improve conversion rate?
    3) what are examples of sites that have very high conversion rates (that are not about how to make money off of sales letters/emails etc)? i would like to see as many examples of effective sites as possible.
    4) are there any forums or sites that deals specifically with lead generation site/topics?

    thanks

Well a straightforward and easy to use design can work wonders. If it's hard to find the evaluation button, then people wont waste time trying to.

Also, if the evaluation is a huge big long thingy, then it maybe a bit off putting, try splitting it into smaller forms and have say part 1 of 5 n stuff.

    thanks for the relpy.
our design is a little too cluttered, but we do a pretty good job of directing people to the eval and it is broken down into several short sections as to not make it overwhelming.

Does anyone have any good examples?

Oh oh! Pick me, pick me!

I wrote a long rant about my conversion rates, here:

Unfortunately, what I was converting and what you're converting are different. I wanted to entice membership, so I could hype features to get members. You want to entice evaluations, and I'm not sure what the visitor gains from that. So I'm not sure what you'd hype. But check out my topic. At the very least, you could be sure you make it clear that users get something for filling out your form. Something related to the site, so that you don't just get people filling out the form for free loot.

Try to write in ads as much information as possible , when user will click on ad he must be prepared with almost all info and ready to signup (price , what will they get from this ).

Design must be very good and simple , the most important thing on the page must be the form also reasons why he must register/submit form to be seen from pacific :)

    Good luck!
