Alright, I am looking for you peoples' suggestions on developent of a trustworthy trader rating system. With two main objectives: 1) To estimate the legitness of potential seller/trader. 2) Ability to resist against fake ratings. Consider is something like itrader -- but as you know how itrader works, its easy as hell to forge the ratings and give/get fake itraders. Reputation system can help a little bit to estimate, but rep gangs can forge this too. Something like scriptlance have? Its harder to forge, as you can only rate someone after you select him as a programmer etc., and it costs you money. But this thing goes out of question for a forum based trading environment. What do you suggest? How a better rating system can be made? Post whatever comes to your mind, even if you think its stupid .. it might blink a light bulb or something. Post 'em!
Or I should skip the idea of such development? And stick to the typical itrader thing? As most sophisticated rating system of Google PR can even be forged .. and so? and I should assume I cannot make something resistive against scammers? Help is appreciated.
I see it as part of an integrated whole, you need to look at itrader, rep and also the person's postings over time. I feel that the person's postings is the most important as it reflects who he is.
Correct. So do you think I should develop the tool which use the forum age of member, numbers of posts, reputation points and itrader rating in formula and calculate integrity of the member? may be rate the member from 1-10 or 1-100? I got this idea as well, sounds cool to me, but creating such a formula would be real hard.
