I've had tape.com basically since 1994. Sold tape products with it for a number of years, sold the company (and domain name) but took the domain name back a few years later. Have no experience in selling domain names so looking for any ideas on the best way to approach this. Thank you for any help.
It looks like a great name. it can featch a minimum of arround 5000$ imo. - If you want to sell it to a reseller, then you can post the domain for sale here at digital point forum or at namepros.com which is a dedicated forum for domain sales. Also you can post it in flippa.com. - But If you want to find an end user usually who pays much higher than the resellers, then you can park you domain in sedo and wait till some one finds it. Or you can find a broker at sedo who can help to sell your domain. just write to them. - Submit it to Brandbucket.com - Contact end users directly. example : you can contact some one who is having a domain name like for example : tapesonline.com and explain that tape.com is much better than your current domain.
It is a great domain name, aged, single word and 4L. It has worth high $xxxx to low $xx,xxx. Checkout Flippa.com or Sedo.com, the marketplaces to sell domain names. You can also check comparable sales here https://namebio.com/?s=QM5QDO4UjN
DUDE DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT SELL THAT FAST WTF U LEGIT HAVE A DOMAIN NAME THAT'S THE EQUIVALENT OF A NICE LOTTERY TICKET. Here's what you need to do: 1. Read up on domaining @ Namepros (DP isn't so niche for domains) 2. I strongly suggest you post on the NamePros appraisal section about this. They'll flip (literally). 3. You can get some bites by listing it for free on Flippa and Sedo. 4. Inquire with Joe (multi-millionaire domain broker): https://www.namepros.com/blog/expert-exchange-an-interview-with-domain-broker-joe-uddeme.957337/ That thing is worth a mercedez. It's not only 4L, but A USEFUL word.
lol do you really have that domain name? or are you just joking . cuz 3 posts, new member, and immediately asks about a priceless domain name... seems kinda fishy. <insert pic of fishbait.jpg>
Last couple of years I had it set up as an Amazon affiliate with over 10,000 tape products but didn't have the time to devote to it and develop decent SEO content. Thought I'd see what the market is for a premium domain name. Sent an e-mail to Joe Uddeme and will see what he has to say.
They'll ask for a reserve price. I just emailed his company today for one of my domains, and that's what happened .
Yeah, I figured as much. Have one offer at $100k but trying to figure out the real market or if that offer is an anomaly.
Tape.com scores 970 on EvoSix that's a huge domain and worth a lot more than X,XXX or XX,XXX as some suggested.
If it's a legitimate offer, than I really wouldn't hesitate to take it. Domains typically don't sell in that range, at least publicly. Frankly, your best bet is hiring a broker. They would jump on the name and actively sell it. If you want top $, hire someone who knows what they are doing. Posting names on forums asking for appraisals, etc., isn't ideal. Breadcrumbs for a potential buyer to find. "Well he really doesn't know what he has...I'll low ball him"...sort of deal. Regardless, always counter higher. If they're willing to spend 100k, than they are likely willing to spend more.
