Hello, I am looking for a company, web site, business that has good credentials that does link building such as article submission video submission finding reciprocal linking partners (including finding web sites and inviting them to my directory) press release submission blog submissions and any other similar jobs I feel could benefit. I paid good money to someone who has been a large member of this very forum for quite some time and has only delivered on a small part of the job. He submitted my site to directories which was part of the job, but only about 15% of the total job. Another words he charges 15% of what I paid him to submit to around 100 directories. The rest of the money was for all the extra work such as the list I have mentioned above and he has not delivered. He didn't even have a structured plan on how he was going to conduct the work. Now I can't get hold of him. His last post on this forum was over a month ago. I always got a response within a couple of days before so I can safely assume he has done a runner. I am asking here for good references because to be quite frank, there are too many companies offering such services and it's ridiculous to think one can distinguish the good from the crap. Only experience does that. I must also point out, that I am looking to employ someone to do these services because I don't have the time, not because I don't know what I'm doing, which is a mistake the last guy made. He assumed I knew nothing about internet marketing and SEO and link building, but to my detriment, I didn't listen to my gut. Thankyou
The things you mentioned are hardly the activities done for link building, most of them beside directory submissions with provide you with low quality links, not sure what video submitting has to do with link building as well. As for finding reciprocal link partners, thats also not the best thing to do as direct link exchanges are bad for your search engine rankings on search engines like Google.
Hi Dactyl, I actually disagree with you, but I thankyou for responding. Directory submission is overloaded and overrated. It takes some personal and creative work to find other ways to get exposure. Video submission is not for link building granted, but it does get you great exposure if done right. I used this part of the forum called 'link development' becasue the way I look at it is if you can submit to directories, you can submit to article web sites, press release web sites, blog directories and the list continues. I know what I want, I just want someone to do it for me that isn't going to jerk me around , rip me off by not doing what they promised, and has experience in this field. Thanks again Dean
Article and press release websites will not give you a quality link, they are usually too deep in the website hierarchy, i've tried both and they proved to be as worthless as link farms and all that crap. Directory submission could get you some good links, but i do agree that most of the links are worthless as well.
"As for finding reciprocal link partners, thats also not the best thing to do as direct link exchanges are bad for your search engine rankings on search engines like Google. " Any proof with your current websites ? Dactyl, also your website about link building not working, that's bad. Cause I really want to read it.
No proof because i never do reciprocal links, this was mentioned on numerous SEO blogs and forums, Matt Cuts mentioned it a number of times on his blog as well, stay away from reciprocal links. Its really logical if you think about it, why does search engines like links pointing to your website? because they are supposed to be a value that they can measure of how useful and valuable that website is, ideally, links should be placed from one website to another when that website owner finds a good website and links to it, now if you go and start link exchanging, search engines like Google think of it as a way of tricking them, because neither of the 2 websites are linking because they have good content, they are doing that specifically for the search engines, not the real human visitor.
Also please let me know how you get decent number of links in extreme compete areas like real estate, travel, jewelr for example. Also right now I went into Google, type very compete jewelry related keyword, go to top 30 sites, choosed one of them, track his backlinks, it shows lots of link exchanges (so most links are exchanges). Now there is a question if it's such bad for google, for ranking in google, how it appeared that site ranks very decent and moreover google lists "devalued" links in website profile ? No proof. Ok, that speak for itself.
Google will devalue reciprocal links when it will stated in their policy on their website. Not on Matts blog. I have read what you say. I had success with reciprocal link building. And some of sites I worked with still on top in Google for their keywords just of that. As for now like topic starter say you need to diversify your link building using lot of methods. "ideally, links should be placed from one website to another when that website owner finds a good website and links to it" Sure, but what if I don't have time (don't know how, etc.) to go to look for nice websites ? Also try to do really good website with great content and do no links. Based on your statements (and I must admit that on my logic and everyone logic too) people should give you lot of links. Well, my friend did. He do no link building, after 6 month he received 2 links After that he bought few high PR, high traffic links and have about 100 links point to him in a month period. And he was in top for his keywords.
I actually disagree with both of you Dactyl and SEOLinker, but this is not the point of this thread. I think that reciprocal linking has it's place if done right, and only if done right, and that goes for all linking campaigns. I'm not a short-cut taker, and so if someone came to me and offered services to get me links and wanted to take short cuts I would tell them to p$%s off! Simple. I want things done right and that it is natural. Everything that can be done on the internet to increase web site exposure can also be abused, it's like the health system of all western countries. Amit, I will respond to your PM soon - thankyou
