Suggestions for *targeted* email marketing

What would be best way to run an email campaign to promote my site? I need suggestion for emails (targeted) lists and newsletter sites/softwares.

 

i would advise against email campaigns (which can be considered as spamming). much better is sending message to all or specific category members on the site - they only receive "you got new message" email, but they have to proceed to the site they have membership on to read your message (and may be click a link in it if interested). This way your site never will be flagged for spamming since there is no link to it in any email sent.

The problem is that I'm not trying to reach people who are already members instead I'm trying to bring those people to the site who are not members yet. So that idea might not work.

 

Add a signature with a link to your posts.

well you can send emails whenever there are new products you are promoting, or maybe discount codes since people love freebies and discounts.

 

Offering a free product related with your niche can bring you targeted visitor as I'm doing.

 

Has anybody ever used the list from email-list.com ? They claim that the email addresses they provide are all "opt-in" addresses. Any suggestions ?
