What are some SEO strategies for a newly registered site/domain? I registered a new domain today. I have a good idea of what I want to do with it but don't want there to be a blank page while I get my content and revenue model ready? Should I leave it blank, have an "Under Construction" image, add one or two pages of content related to my url, add some affiliate ads? Other ideas????
Usually you want to be indexed or listed in each search engine you are planning on gathering referring traffic from. In order to do that you may want to start gathering inbound links related to your niche using keyword rich anchor text. I would stay away from building a site only for "affiliate ads" Spend some time thinking of a unique idea, then start building the content and have a mostly complete site BEFORE you introduce it to the Net. You do not just want to 'throw' something up and call it good I am sure, so I would take my time and create a quality site with quality content that hopefully helps others. If all those things are there, then plan on creating space for some of your affiliate ads and you will probably even make more money off them. just my .02
I agree with seoforumz. Think of creative ideas as a content before putting it live. With that you might be able to make more than you expected. Good luck.
Firstly I would index that page, just adding about 100 words explaining you are going to realese a new website... but never use it to link your pages. You know, specially Google cares a lot about domain's aging. Just get indexed, doesn't let your visitors know about that. I would recommend the same the other friends have told you, but, you know, we must think all websites are not planned to be popular, as a corporate website...
