Suggestions for my guitar site

Would like to see more search engine traffic - only pagerank of 3, even though my domain name is old and has 4,749 backlinks according to Yahoo.

    www.dolphinstreet.com

What would you suggest for improvements for getting more traffic from search engines?

Why isn't my PR higher than 3?

Any and all suggestions welcome! :)

I would suggest onsite seo, work out what terms you want to rank well for and that would actually get you some visitors and then SEO your homepage for those terms.

currently the only h1 tags you have on your homepage is this

    <h1>Welcome to Dolphinstreet Guitar! </h1>

Also dont confuse PR with SERP'S i have site without PR and they are get 20K unique visitors per month

I recommend on-site SEO. You don't have keywords, you don't have robots, I can't seem to see a sitemap (I usually can't anyways). I recommend finding those target keywords and optimizing your website using them. Also make sure that the keywords you chose have a good keyword density within the content of the site. You have good backlinks, more is better since the website is older. On-site seems to be the only issue I see. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean by "you don't have keywords, you don't have robots"?

    I have a sitemap.

Sorry, I did miss the site-map. On the other hand, what I mean by keywords, is the keywords you want your website to be targeting in search engines. The robot code and the revisit code forces search bots to return at a time you set them to return. For example if I say revisit in 7 days, it returns. If I have a robot code that says index, follow, archive, then the robot will do just that. Helps keep you indexed and optimized a bit better. I hope this helps! PM me if you are still clueless, or reply here. Good luck!

a robots file is only good tell Google not to index your pages, Googlebot will follow and index pages naturaly without having to tell it to follow etc. If you want more PageRank you need to get higher PR and authoritative site to link to you. If you want better SERP's you need keyword related backlinks.

I personally would rather be safe than sorry. I do my robots regardless to insure that it indexes the pages I want it to index. His website has around 8k in back-links, 68 of them from google which could be the possibility to why it is only at a Page Rank of 3. Don't forget, he has NO on-site optimization done. There are no targeted keywords.

Schueis, why do you come to the conclusion I have no targeted keywords and no on-site optimization? Search for "Free guitar video lessons" in Google - I am number 3.

Also, can you clarify what you mean about 68 links from Google possibly being the reason my PR is only 3?

    Aren't Meta keywords useless?

    Thanks for the suggestions!
