Suggestions for best payment method

HiI would like to have a system where I offer a free service, and then two other tiers where people pay different amounts for a different service, so say £5 and £10. I want this to be put into a MySql database, so I'll have a column and for each row there will be a value 1,2 or 3 representing whether they have paid or not and this will then influence the service they receive. So when they register the details they will be given an option of what level of service they want, and then when the payment is processed this will be reflected in the MySql database. What is the best way to go about this? I don't have any experience in this area with paypal etc. making sure the payment goes through and is legitimate etc. So any suggestions on how to do this - whether there is a simple way I can do it myself, a paid for service or anything else, as long as it is not too expensive. Thanks in advance

Well Paypal is accepted globally. If it is available in your country try Google Check Out, Alertpay, Skrill also is accepted globally as well. Here are just a few recommendations.

Why don't you try 2checkout ? Their verification system is quite strong, and would prevent you from many frauds ;)

I am accept AlertPay as one of our payment method for a year or two now and they are quite good, especially with their support.

The only downside that I can find with them is the withdrawal of funds to your bank account is slower by a few days when compared to PayPal.

Try Stripe (search Google for Stripe Payments). It's a payment processor that accepts any credit or debit and even pre-paid cards. You can develop your payment forms and checkout pages and all sorts of stuff! It's really great, that's what I use. They deposit right into your bank account too.

    SERVE: 1-800-954-0559

    AMERICAN EXPRESS SERVE: http://www.serve.com/

American Express has a payment processing web site that's great! American Express purchased the old Revolutionary Money Exchange which was a "Merchant Service" web site servicing auction sites, online marketplaces. American Express created Serve and hasn't added the merchant services in which Revolutionary money exchange was.

American Express is promoting Ebay and Paypal though their money pak function which is a money uploading function to Serve. Serve is doing this to gain internet exposure and to create accounts using Ebay and Paypal.

Call American Express Serve, " 1-800-954-0559 " and tell them to dump the Ebay and Paypal promotion and add "Merchant Services" so buyers can have another popular payment web site besides Paypal. American Express "Serve" is a very nice looking site and is extremely easy to navigate.

Call American Express Serve and ask them to add "Merchant Services". The phone clerk may act as if they don't know what merchant services is but "They Do Know" and they are just being told to "Dumb Up" because they are promoting Ebay and Paypal as a Money Pak funding option.

Yes, Alert Pay is now Payza. Alert Pay was a Canadian company and now it's owned by Payza which is a British company.

Just seems that none of these other payment companies can get it right. I like Paypal but it's owned by Ebay and to many people are kissing up to Ebay not wanting to piss them off due to the fact these people think they are going to play on Ebay and Paypal to fuel profits to their business. Never works! Paypal and Ebay just get "FREE" advertising from people that want to use the Ebay and Paypal names to attract customers.

American Express Serve is doing just this. They are trying to get customers by using the Ebay and Paypal names. All Serve has to do to attact customers is install Merchant Services and advertise it. Serve will blow right past Paypal.

Been dealing with Paypal for 11 years and it is expensive with the fees but it is the seamless method of payment with out using a Merchant account. Customers can use any form of credit card to process their purchase and have a proven legitimate payment processor to feel comfortable with. You as the vendor also have the ability to use a business debit card to access those funds in your business account. Accounting tools also are pretty seamless and easy to reconcile.

I would recommend Skrill/Moneybookers or a properly verified and identified PayPal. They are the best payment methods that I know of. Skrill functions fine and does not lock your account unnecessarily.
You can also use Skrill on eBay to sell products now.
