I am not going to make any specific reference to infractions received here, so please do not lock it and send me still more infractions. This is a general suggestion, and this section does request things we 'don't like'

I was recently given an infraction, and contacted admin twice to try to find out why. Again, I am not starting this thread to discuss said infraction, just the problems I had as a result of it.

The email I received simply said

    Reason: 7 day ban

which didn't really help me to understand why I had been banned.

I then, after 7 days of wondering why I had been banned, posted here (I wasnt getting replies to my emails) to ask for an explanation and recieved 2 more infractions for doing so.

What I would like to offer by means of a suggestion, is that if admin/mods are going to hand out infractions, at least they have the decency to explain why, and perhaps work with the person receiving the infraction instead of banning them blind.

Further, if staff do not reply to emails, how can issues been addressed if raising them here results in infractions, and then abrupt and frankly rude responses from mods?

Once again, I do not want to discuss the infractions, just the experience of being on the receiving end of DP moderation. I am keeping this thread in keeping with your rules, so please allow dialogue here.

If there is a problem with this post, perhaps someone could PM to discuss it instead of just issuing infractions.

I now understand the reason for my initial infraction, this thread is not to discuss that infraction.

This thread is a suggestion regarding the way mods communicate with members.

I appreciate it says there is no warning, what I am suggesting here is it shouldnt. Further, that when the ban is issued, the 'reason' actually states a reason, and emails are replied to.

As admin of another board, I often find myself saying the same thing to people who get a bit trigger happy, but arent prepared to explain their actions:

    "With the power comes responsibility"

This whole experience has left me extremely frustrated and angry at the way I have been treated, and every attempt to challenge the way things are done here leads to either being ignore or further infractions.

I think it's only fair to offer an alternative.
