suggestion: please add your years of experience or the number of websites you worked on after each post to know if the advice comes from a beginner or professional. i learned a lot from this forum and many of the advices from here worked great but sometimes a beginner send replay with a great confident words that is sometimes wrong and may be harmful. i am not preventing beginners from sharing there knowledge and sure a more beginner one will learn from it but just let us know your expertise.
This is not likely to happen. If you are a beginner and trying to learn I would suggest that seo forums are NOT the place to start. As you've already noticed, there are a LOT of posters here and on similar forums who know just enough to be dangerous. I would suggest you follow these tips for learning search engine optimization.
SEO knowledge is relative: someone can have advanced knowledgement in Linkbuilding, but nothing about On Page SEO, and so on. Well, I just say what I'm sure here, but I'm relatively new in Digital Point (this is the first SEO Forum that I really contribute posting), but I have a brazilian blog about SEO and Blogging Tips (Análise Blogueira) and I have a lot of another blogs, included a new niche blog, that you can see some links pointing to it on my signature. I think I know enough to share my experience, but still have a lot to learn, especially in paid SEO techniques (as paid links, for example), that I still don't use.
I know people who have been working in seo/marketing for years, and still don't have a clue. Likewise, some people just 'get it' really quickly. In any case, that's just an invitation to bullshitters - hop on over to the adsense forum and have a look at how often posters claim to be making $100,000 a month.
i agree with you all but i still see if every member added the number of websites he optimized will give a good overview of his experience which will help the reader to evaluate the advice
That's largely what the rep system is for - if you've lots of green blobs, a lot of people have found your contributions helpful. I can say that, I've got loads of the buggers
