    Hello
I see a lot of ppl in the Sites sub-forum claiming that they have got high bids by PM to take the price up and increase bidding. I am sure many of these are fake claims. Therefore I suggest that bidding by PM in Sites sub-forum may be stopped by making a rule. That you greatly help buyers to find good sites at right prices.

Please consider my suggestion Mods and Admins
    Sincerely
    BUBAIPAL:)

Bubaipal, the forum has been live since 2004 and most of the suggestions get circulated over and over.

Balancing the right to privacy against sellers who try to inflate bids is an issue. Personally I would loose all interest in dealing with a seller that appeared to be ooching up the sales price.

    Hi Smyrl
At least a rule could be made which forces a seller to mention if he is accepting PM bids or not in the opening post in bold letters. And still I feel a lot of people are selling those start up .info domains with inflated stats at higher prices just by saying "Highest bid is xx$ by PM". See what you can do.

    Thanks
    BUBAIPAL:)

ANd BTW- Can you please correct the spelling mistake in the thread TITLE.

Well, if the user wants to make up fake bids, they'll be found sooner or later and no-one will purchase from them.

You can't ban PM bids, as a lot of people prefer it that way.

Just assume that everyone does, since that's the basic policy. Those who won't accept bids via PM are the ones who should note that in their thread (keeping in mind that they still must be willing to accept questions via PM as per the BST announcement).

There are legitimate reasons why some people bid privately. For example, the new owner might not want any public record showing that they purchased a particular site. Another reason (given by a few people I've personally sold sites to via PM here) is that those with bigger budgets don't want to bid publicly because they know they'll get spammed. As soon as people see what they're willing to spend publicly, the buyer gets bombarded with PMs from people trying to sell crap sites that in no way are what they were looking for, just because they know the buyer has money to spend.

Well, if you guys decide to keep it then alright. I am not into buying and selling. You can close this if you wish. I think a conclusion have been reached.

BTW Thanks for rectifying the TITLE:)
