Suggestion for Website promotion.

I know quite a bit about online promotion of a website. But I've not yet explored offline methods to promote a website.

Can anyone throw some light on offline methods of promoting a website?

 

It depends on topic of your site. For example you can put some posters, stickers in your area if website is related to it or it might be interesting for those people. You can make some t-shirts or other merchandize. Also you can use usual advertising like press, TV, radio, etc.

 

Sponsor a soccer/softball/football/basketball adult team.

What is your site about? You have to give us more info, so we can give you some answers.

 

maybe you could try printing the URL in tshirts, and give it out. Or print huge poster, give out stickers and key chain.

 

Tell you friends about your site

 

write the url on your vehicle. sponsor friends to write it on their's...

 

As someone who is new to this, I know this works because seeing URLs on cars makes me curious and then I end up visiting them. Most of the time they're just goofy sites, but seeing it there, with no description of what it is makes me want to know!

 

Advertise on mags, tv, radio, flyers. Hire people to walk around with your url on big signs or stuff like that.

 

I think it whole-heartedly relates to what your company does. Go to where your potential buyers are. This means if you sell cars, go advertise in autotrader magazines perhaps. If you sell baby items, perhaps go talk to those consignment shops where they sell used strollers and things and place a self-made magazine with your products in their store for a small monthly fee. Does your potential customer base read the newspaper?

 

Word of mouth travels fast. Spread the word among friends on your website and you'll surely get traffic.
