Hi guys, I've setup a forum dedicated to an online game. I would like to start adding ads on this website. Can you guys suggest any good ad network for this type of site? I was thinking of using Adsense? What do you guys think? Thank you for your time guys!
Eh, forums + AdSense is a little dangerous. You have to make sure there is no cursing etc, because google will look for any excuse to not pay you and shut your account down. So keep that in mind. Otherwise, I would focus on getting traffic and members to the forum. Once you start getting a large amount of traffic finding networks which will accept you will be much easier.
Hi Wrekoniz3, Thanks for your input. Ah, really? I did not expect that from Google Adsense. Right now, my forum is getting traffic. We have at least 250+ users online a day. Which is still little.
Just have to be extremely careful with google and have to understand they are a greater risk then some of the smaller networks out there. So do you know how many page views you get per day? and what countries most of your traffic is from?
That's true, however they are more safe? We can't always trust smaller networks. Sometimes they pay late or don't even pay etc. Yep, I get around 1,400+ visits a day and around 180,000+ hits a day. Mainly from (in order): 1. US 2. Australia 3. Canada 4. Great Britain
What I mean by Smaller, is your networks like CPX Interactive, Conversant (Formerly ValueClick), etc. They are all big networks and reliable but also smaller than AdSense.
I understand why people would say AdSense. But lets be realistic here, Rates are good, Support is non-existent, and you can be shut down for any reason with out explanation or proof. I pretty much loved Google as a company until I started hearing industry talk about bad practices.
