Hey I'm in the process of developing a website for a tae-kwon-do team. They need to be able to create athlete profiles (pictures, info, etc.), post events, and the the other regular pages (about us, contact form, etc). Any suggestions on what I should be looking into? Thanks.
You can likely get away with using a somewhat customized version of wordpress. Graciefighter.com is an example. That is not the soundest site I have seen(huge fan though). But you can get that functionality running pretty quickly with out much fuss. hope that helps, Nigel
Hi there, here are two examples: using the free version of boonex: http://www.karateprofile.com/ It seems to be quite popular. and using phpfox: www.martialartsfriends.com Less popular apparently. The free version of boonex would allow you to easily achieve everything you mentioned, but you will have the boonex logo on it. The more powerful social network solutions without the vendor logo's start at around 250 $. As said above, wordpress could be used. Even better would be joomla + communitybuilder. Both free. Boonex, phpfox, socialengine, etc have the advantage that its easy to upload & and get started. No messing about. Its a script in a box. if your taekwondo team or club grows, you would be able to handle that easier also.
