    Hello,
A category is not really relevant since your directory is not listable in it's current condition.

We are generally less picky then the current editors, so chance are dogbows is right...

As for which category though, have you bothered searching yourself? Maybe you could go find a few that it might fit in, and we'd be happy to tell you which ones on your list we think are the best.

I've found the best way for site placement is to search for competitors...as the ODP search is lacking on several levels. Though you might find that google does a pretty good job if you add on site:dmoz.org

Yes! In order for a general directory to be listable in the ODP, it must have thousands on top of thousands of listings. You have a lot of categories, but in searching about half of those categories, I only found two listings.

So searching for the correct category at this point in time is a waste of energy. If you suggest the site as it is, it will be rejected within seconds of it's review. Your time is best spent on building your directory for those who might actually use it.

Dogbows is quite right... she usually is ;)

Two ways to get a directory listed in DMOZ:

    1) Download the RDF Dump, follow the license conditions regardless of whether you think it is legally valid or not (if you want it listed somewhere other than License Violators), submit to the category for ODP data users. Please do remove the Adult branch data if you do this or you may find yourself displaying some very unsavoury, and some might say illegal, sites. Thereafter tweak, remove, add your own data.

    2) Develop a niche directory and make it the most comprehensive possible on that niche. And add some unique information and images on that niche - make it good and a bit more than a couple of paragraphs. Put a copyright notice on (what's good for the goose...) and submit to the appropriate niche category. Do another niche directory. And another. Eventually link them all together.
