    Hy !
    I have over 400Gb 3gp videos (25k files +) , around 1Tb bandwidth used per week !
My server works ok for the moment , but I want to host files separately because I have in plan to bring more visitors so will load slowly for sure !
Please suggest a hosting company specialized in just hosting files ... kind of CND solution but I need something cheper than that ... I need for a "heavy" download site !

    thank you !

    Hi there

ok for you its is best to get a better server, 400gb of data is alot and you use 1tb of bandwidth

you need a 8 core with 8gb of ram with 2tb hd 1st drive and unlimted bandwidth

try leaseweb or try webhostingworld to find a good provider

    thanks

What is current setup? What bottlenecks are you dealing with? Are you in need of mostly BW or disk space? One setup would be to run the website on its own server and have backended servers to serve the files. PM if you wish to talk more about a setup which would work for you.

Are you looking for managed or unmanaged providers? What kind of budget are you working with to get this rolling? There are a couple ways to go about this depending on what your funds are.

You need either a very large VPS or a dedicated server. You are well beyond shared hosting.

Ahhhh okay. For some reason, it sounded like you were looking for a shared plan. Yep, get another dedicated server somewhere and you'll be good to go. I don't really think you're going to find too many people who specialize just in the file side of things. 4TB of bandwidth a month should easily be handled by another dedicated box.

You can use a VPS or you might want to go ahead and move up to a dedicated for maximum control. Many good providers exist and you may want to read a few reviews once you have your small list narrowed down to under ten. Don't base your decision on one bad or good review. Look at what people say about a company overall and then call and ask the sales dept. what is the best solution for you. Many providers are more than happy to work with you to make sure you are getting the plan that best suits your needs.

    Hi,

To have clear depiction for all your requirements, you can move with dedicated servers instead of VPS as there are major concerns to look for. Your website is to experience more number of visitors than now, so it would be better to opt for dedicated servers. Besides its cost, it is completely a dedicated resource and gives you a full control over software and hardware components.

You'll need dedi with unmetered port, I recommend Redswitches for your demands, you won't regret of using them, mate.

Just a heads up...every link for their dedicated servers is broken. 404 errors everywhere.

I think you must live with HostGator VPS. But did you sure about copyright materials? :) HostGator is always looking for your contents and you can lost many data with them. :)

Maybe in NZ it is, but not here in the US, which governs Hostgator. How else would they know if the clients are hosting illegal material?

check webhostingtalk for offers on dedicated servers...but more important hosts that tolerate 1TB weekly (4TB monthly...*faints*)

1TB weekly. Can you just load your videos to youtube instead? If you can, you're welcome for the $thousands I just saved you
