Don't worry about books, tips or tricks. Those are trying to simulate reality. Just create solid, original content and lots of it for your niche. The SE's will eat it up. Keep it real.

I dont think I will rank better in yahoo if I pay you or Brad 190$.

SEO Book is definitely worth the money. People that use the "Content is King" are missing the boat in some respects. No offense meant.

All search engines have different criteria for how they rank sites and even individual pages and they also change that criteria on a regular basis. If you do not understand how a search engine works, indexes, caches and displays results, then you are just throwing information at a wall and trying to see what sticks. Creating content for your site doesn't do a damn bit of good if the search engines don't know how to index you effectively unless you tell them how you want them to index you in the manor that the engine wants you too. If you are not good at titles, descriptions and all of the other text and site structure related on page factors, you will be so far down in the indexes that nobody will ever find you. Learn how to do ALL OF IT from people that are all over the internet. If they are all over the place then they must know what they are doing.

Brad Callen is decent and very well known. All of the StomperNet videos also give some good illustrations. Aaron Wall got known for figuring out what happened with Googles "Florida Update" a few years ago. He posted analysis on his blog as to why so many internet businesses were ruined and backed it all up with solid evidence. His Ebook is very well put together and can be used to help open your brain up to how the internet really works. Once you do that a whole new internet seems to open up in front of you. It is an easy and interesting read.

Here are a few things to consider about the search engines when trying to optimize your site:

Some search engines won't care about meta tags but others will. USE THEM ANYWAY. You won't get penalized for it by any of the search engines but make sure the meta keywords you use are actually listed on your page.

Some engine will place more weight on titles and where your keywords are in the title and how much weight they carry in the title than other engines do. The same thing can be said about your meta descriptions. Your keywords in the description need to flow well in a sentence format. The title can read more like a newspaper headline.

Your internal site linking structure is also very important to how it describes your website to the users and the search engines. Using static pages with a static URL that is keyword targeted can help you will pretty much all search engines.

The closer to the beginning of your page you can place your main keywords the better. There are some search algos that will rate a site by how far into the page they need to go to get to your keywords.

Some engines will place massive importance on keywords in the domain name as well as the order that they appear in the domain in relation to the search query.

As an example, I have a website with almost NO content, very few backlinks that is on the top of several major search engines and that content NEVER changes. Content is not king in many respects.

I have seen all of the Brad Callen SEO Elite videos and there is definitely some good info in them. There is also some great info on the StomperNet videos as well. I am not an affiliate for any of these people. Nor will I ever be. If Janna makes a few dollars from promoting a product she believes in why is that a bad thing? How come everyone slams people for that?

Promoting a product she believes is not a bad thing, all we do that, but in four recent post about SEO Janna put links to SeoElite.(for me looks like forum spam)
If you have something to say just say dont send people on every thread to pages that promote a product.

MN Sandy who started the thread says :

"Hey, folks, I'm looking for latest, up to date grand course for Yahoo, so please let me know!

I know Brad Callen articles and are old.

For a newbie that is a really good place to start to get a foundation even if the stuff in it is dated. The Stompernet Videos also show some good things about site structure that can help. I think that in general that the more you learn the better off you are. The one thing that I did was learn from all of the "Experts" and try EVERYTHING to come up with a formula that seems to work well for myself. The things that I found to be true from a majority of the experts I then took as Gospel. The things that the experts differed on, I figured out for myself.

Content is key and we still need basic knowledge of search engines.

A Good Content with out proper title and URL will keep you in page 10 of search results.

    my 2 cents.

Though I get most of traffic from google but hardly get any traffic from yahoo. Not sure why yahoo is not able deliver ? May be Google is used more compared to yahoo..
