Me planed to have a WebSite related to our CITY[Local City Site]. It is a Big City. can anyone suggest me good CMS software for my development of my site.
Ever heard fo joomla, drupal, phpnuke, php-fusion? no? google them and choose which is best for your needs
IMHO, you should plan the features you want to have on the site, find the advantages and disadvantages of every cms regarding to the features. You can download some favorite cms, install them in your localhost and try them one by one to make sure. That will give you more description about what to be optimized for the choosen cms. I think joomla is a good choice. I used to develop my own website to make sure that i can add/remove features to my site and i can control how it works.
Hi, I am in the process of review some of the more popular CMS platforms out there. Right now, my favorite is ExpressionEngine (there is a licensing fee). I am also looking closely at MODx. However, the next version of ExpressionEngine is written on CodeIgniter which will probably give me all of the flexibility of MODx with the added: ease of use, support, modules/plugins, and community that is associated with ExpressionEngine. ExpressionEngine seems very solid and commercial-grade to me. I just can't seem to get comfortable with either Drupal and Joomla. It seems like everything is done by committee, and too many cooks almost always spoil the broth. I am still at the beginning stage of my evaluation, and it should take several weeks to complete. Rich
Will you be willing to write an article about your experience with these web software? And publish it on www.mytestbox.com ? If yes please let me know... I believe other people will benefit from your experience...
