    Hello

I was using Godaddy but today they let me down with PHP and my website is not loading!
Anyone using godaddy can confirm PHP server is down?

Can you suggest me another GOOD cheap hosting, and also for domains that I can register for whatever name I want?

    Thanks

I'm using Hostgator and never had any problems with them, even better whenever I had some problems like setting something up, their support always helped me out. If you are interested you can have a free month with them, I have the coupon in my signature. If you don't like them just, yu can simply quit before the month runs out :)

I honestly cannot stand anything from Godaddy, it's like one massive advertisement. I've used ThisWebHost for just under a year now and they really have been fantastic and exceptionally cheap.

I only buy domains on GoDaddy and Namecheap but I host them on Hostgator. It has the best support team (with live chat). Very quick respond if something bad happen to your site.

Ouch, I hope you really don't think this? GoDaddy is great for domains, however anything more than that, I've found it not to be their niche.

@Iinderman; I personally would separate the domain/hosting aspect, as to not put all your eggs in one basket. In other words, find a provider for domains, and an alternate provider for hosting. There are plenty of hosting providers that provide only that, hosting, because that's what they specialize in, and don't allow domain registrations. Do you have any requirements such as disk space/bandwidth or features what you would need?

It may seem a bit irresistible to search and compare different webhosting packages, but there are thousands of web hosting providers that can meet your needs.
What are you budget and requirements?

    Hello,
    Nice post i like it
I would suggest that you start out with the smallest plan available, and see how your websites fare. Are they up for over 98% of the time. This is a bench mark for good hosting. With the hosting servers being more reliable, I would increase the up time to 99%+.
    Thanks

First - every web hosting company can have a downtime periodically. No 100% perfect hosting company ever existed

Second - Most of quality hosting are never come with a cheap price. You got for what you have paid. You can expect a "fairly good" with a cheap hosting solution from major providers. What is your budget range per month or per year?

Third - I would recommend you register a domain separate from a hosting company. It is more convenient when you need to move any website into another host in further. Many peoples do not aware that some hosting companies are convincing you to register your domain with their hosting package just to use that domain as hostage later. It does mean you cannot transfer your website into another hosting company or your domain will not be yours anymore.

There are plenty of good hosting companies but what is your budget? You can expect somewhat quality from $5+ approximate monthly price from a real web hosting company. Godaddy was started as domain registrant service so their expertise is not hosting but domain registration.

You want someone as-cheap-as and as-good-as GD ? stick to GD
If you've learnt that cheap and good don't generally mix in the same reference, you'll need to supply your requirements (beyond needing php) for anyone to give a sensible suggestion.
